Joanne Taylor

Owner & groomer, The Floof Spa

I'm Joanne — a qualified dog groomer working one-to-one from my small studio in Herne Bay, and in clients' homes across Herne Bay and the surrounding area.

I trained to SEG Level 3 because I wanted to learn the welfare side properly: handling, anatomy, skin, coat types, when to stop. Every appointment is just one dog and me — no crates, no queues, no pressure.

Book by sending a quick WhatsApp message with your dog's breed, size, and preferred times. I reply personally, usually the same day, confirm the quote before the appointment, and never spring extras on you at pickup.

  • One dog at a time — your dog has my full attention from arrival to pick-up.
  • You can stay for the first visit if it helps your dog settle.
  • I'll confirm the final price before the appointment, not at pickup.
  • I'll stop, slow down, or shorten the groom if your dog needs it.
  • You'll hear from me personally — every booking, every message.

How I work

Three things you can count on

Training & experience

A short history

  1. First clippers

Started volunteering at a local rescue, grooming dogs other salons wouldn't take.

  2. SEG Lv3 accredited

Completed the City & Guilds SEG Level 3 Dog Grooming qualification — the industry standard in handling, anatomy, and welfare.

  3. Home visits

Started a small Herne Bay home-grooming round for senior dogs and anxious rescues who travel badly.

  4. The Floof Spa

Opened the studio in Herne Bay — one dog, one appointment, booked directly with me.

What every booking includes

Here's what I'll always do

  • Confirm your booking personally by WhatsApp or phone.
  • Groom one dog at a time — no overlap, no rush.
  • Use low-stress handling, warm water, and gentle dryers.
  • Tell you honestly what your dog can handle today.
  • Confirm the final price before the appointment, not after.
  • Stop or shorten the visit if it's the kinder call.
