Privacy policy
Last updated: 21 July 2026
The Floof Spa ("we", "us") is a small dog grooming business based in Herne Bay, Kent, run by Joanne Taylor. This page explains what information we collect when you enquire or book, how it's used, and the rights you have over it under UK GDPR.
What we collect
- Your name, address and contact details (email, phone where you share it).
- Your dog's name, breed, size, coat condition and any health or behavioural notes you share.
- Consent form details, including veterinary practice, emergency contacts, medication, allergy, disability and behaviour notes, agreement confirmations, photo consent and electronic signature.
- Appointment dates, service history and any photos shared with consent.
- If you accept analytics cookies, Google Analytics (GA4) receives page views, referrers, approximate location derived from IP and device/browser information. We do not send names or form contents to GA4, but analytics data is not described as anonymous.
How we use it
- To confirm bookings and contact you about your dog's appointments.
- To prepare safely for each groom (coat, behaviour, health notes).
- To keep a record of the consent and permissions you submit.
- To contact you about the service you requested.
- To improve the website through analytics, only with your consent.
Booking and consent records are processed because they are needed to provide the requested service and keep appropriate business records. Optional photo use and analytics rely on consent, which you can withdraw. We do not sell personal data or share it for third-party marketing.
Where it is stored
Online consent form submissions may be stored in Google Sheets so Joanne can keep appointment records organised. Access is limited to The Floof Spa and the services needed to run the form.
How long we keep it
Contact, consent and booking information is normally kept while you remain a client and for up to 2 years afterwards, unless a longer period is needed for a legal claim or accounting obligation. GA4 retention follows the retention setting in The Floof Spa's analytics property. Records that are no longer needed should be deleted securely.
Your rights
You can ask us to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you at any time. Email thefloofspajo@gmail.com and we'll respond within 30 days.
You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
Cookies
The site stores one essential consent choice for up to 12 months. Google Analytics is blocked by default and only loads after you select “Accept analytics”. GA4 may then set cookies and process usage data in the UK, EEA or other countries under Google's data-transfer safeguards. No advertising cookies are used. Rejecting analytics does not affect the site.
Use “Cookie settings” in the footer at any time to reject analytics or change your choice. Withdrawing consent stops future collection; it does not automatically erase data already processed. You can also clear site cookies in your browser.
